CrackerJack - (sire of Handsome Jack) in known in the Northwest as a sire of
Show Quality mules.    Two of his mule have won national titles.
During the 80's, BlackBart and CrackerJack were shown against each other and took turns winning.   BlackBart went on to sire donkeys (and great ones at that), however CrackerJack was primarily bred to mares and settled only a handfull of Jennies before his death.   Handsome Jack is from that heard.   His dam was a grey mammoth jenny that was purchased from Rol Gallaher of Jacksonville Oregon.

Jackson carries the Red and Black Color Gene.
Here are some examples of colors that have been produced.

Mare Color:           Have Produced  the following colors:

Sorrel Mares           Bay,   Black,   Brown,   Red Dun

Bay Mares,             Bay,   Brown,  Sorrel

Buckskin Mares    - Buckskin,   Sorrel

Dun Mare  -             Smutty Buckskin

As you can see,  We are getting a variety of colors out of mares bred to Jackson, and much of it seems to depend on what colors the mare has in her background.  A sorrel mare has had 3 Jackson  babies and they were the following,    bay,  sorrel,  and then a bay..

As you can see, we are not offering a color guarantee,  we are however offering a "LONGEAR"  guarantee.
